Gurgaon: An ASI lost Rs 1.4 lakh to cyber fraudsters after his account was hacked. ASI Shakti Singh, who lives in police lines, said in his complaint that he was on duty on Aug 19 when he received multiple deduction messages from the bank.“I was at my workplace when I started receiving the messages on my mobile phone about withdrawals from my HDFC bank account. Before I could understand the situation, a total of Rs 1,43,433 was withdrawn from my account by an unknown person,” ASI said in his complaint.He immediately notified the cyber police helpline, and a cheating case was registered at the Cyber West Police Station. Police have yet to trace the accused.In another case, cyber fraudsters cheated the daughter of a cop residing in the Bhondsi police lines of Rs 2.2 lakh. The victim, Oshika, got lured with a link inviting her to review a hotel and earn money, following which she was added to a group on Telegram. She was further lured to invest in stocks but lost her earnings.
